Excerpts We Should Read, Talk About, and Act On

Mar 14, 2023 - Mar 14, 2023

Join the JCC's Center for Loving Kindness (CFLK) for their series "Excerpts We Should Read, Talk About and Act On: Important Passages to Guide Us to Stand UP with Our Neighbors". Once a month, the CFLK will host critical Zoom conversations based on book excerpts from social justice literature that can impact how we live in community. There's no need to read the books beforehand because the excerpts will be shared during the conversation.

The upcoming book is Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and on the Health of Our Nation by Linda Villarosa (March 14).
about SHUC

Preserving, Improving, and Celebrating the Quality of Life in Squirrel Hill

For over fifty years, the Coalition has been an active and important link in the community. It has served as a sounding board for new ideas, as well as a “watchdog” in the areas of public safety, education, residential quality, the business district, and parks and open space. With its focus on the quality of life in the 14th Ward, SHUC continues to monitor activities and future developments in the community through a range of standing committees.
