About Squirrel Hill Magazine

Squirrel Hill Magazine® (SHM) is a free service provided by the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition (SHUC) to the residents of the Squirrel Hill neighborhood. Printed four times a year, SHM brings news, updates, and entertainment to our readers. Supported almost entirely by our wonderful advertisers, SHM helps to inform and unite our community.

SHM is mailed directly to over 13,500 homes in the area, with an additional 1,000 copies available at four local drop off locations: the main entrance of the Jewish Community Center on Forbes Avenue, the Squirrel Hill Giant Eagle, the Squirrel Hill branch of the Carnegie Library, and the Wightman School Community Building.

Not nearby? You can read it on your computer, smartphone, or tablet via Issuu:

about SHUC

Preserving, Improving, and Celebrating the Quality of Life in Squirrel Hill

For forty-nine years, the Coalition has been an active and important link in the community. It has served as a sounding board for new ideas, as well as a “watchdog” in the areas of public safety, education, residential quality, the business district, and parks and open space. With its focus on the quality of life in the 14th Ward, SHUC continues to monitor activities and future developments in the community through a range of standing committees.
