"The Burning Child" film screening and Q&A with Joseph Koerner

Join Friends of Neill Log House for a series of fundraising events and a celebration of the artist Henry Koerner over the weekend of October 14-16, 2022. Funds will go towards the restoration of the historic Neill Log House in Schenley Park.
The event is co-hosted by:
- Joseph Koerner, Harvard Art Historian and son of Henry Koerner
- Charlie Stewart, 4th Great-grandson of Robert Neill
- Caroline Boyce, owner of the Koerner House on Negley Ave
Henry Koerner, an Austrian-born American painter who lived and worked in Pittsburgh, was known for being a leader of the Magic Realism movement and his portrait covers for Time magazine. SHUC and Friends of Neill Log House will celebrate the life and art of Koerner over the weekend of October 14-16, 2022.
The weekend will kick off with a film screening of The Burning Child, a documentary about Koerner and his artistic and cultural origins in Vienna co-produced by Joseph Koerner. Watch the trailer here. After the screening, join Joseph Koerner for an intimate Q&A dessert event at Silk Elephant. (The Q&A session is an optional add-on to the film screening, tickets are sold separately).
Friday, October 14th 7:00-9:00 pm Screening of The Burning Child at the Manor Theater, 1729 Murray Avenue ($30 pp). The Q&A event at Silk Elephant will immediately follow the screening ($30 pp).
