PPS Superintendent Search Open Forums

A strong public school system has been and continues to be critical to the vitality of a community— is a key factor in a family’s decision about where to live. It encourages Pittsburghers to stay in the city as well as attracts new and vibrant families to the area and supports a strong regional economy. Currently, Squirrel Hills offers its residents nationally ranked public and private schools, and internationally renowned colleges and universities. It takes vigilance and active community support to have that continue.

The Pittsburgh public school system is undergoing a national search for a new superintendent. Moreover, the Pittsburgh Board of Education is looking for community input in order to attract the best candidates for the job. What qualities would you like in your next superintendent? What priorities are most important to you? We encourage you to make your voice heard.

Opportunities for input are available through January 28, 2016.
