Walk Squirrel Hill! Celebrate Sukkot!

Take a walk through the scenic and historic Squirrel Hill Neighborhood while learning about some of the iconic stops along the way. From the famous Blue Slide Park to the Squirrel Hill merchant district, there is something for just about everyone to appreciate in one of Pittsburgh’s bustling neighborhoods. The tour will be led by SHUC's Executive Director, Maria Cohen.

In honor of Sukkot, this tour will also include architecture, history and culture regarding some of Squirrel Hill’s synagogues located along the walking route.

To note:

Tour starts/ends at the Frick Environmental Center, 2005 Beechwood Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15217

This is a walking tour between 1-2 miles long.

There are parts of this tour that are not wheelchair-accessible.

A portion of this tour is uphill along Murray Avenue between Forward and Forbes with a half-mile incline.

For over fifty years, the Coalition has been an active and important link in the community. It has served as a sounding board for new ideas, as well as a “watchdog” in the areas of public safety, education, residential quality, the business district, and parks and open space. With its focus on the quality of life in the 14th Ward, SHUC continues to monitor activities and future developments in the community through a range of standing committees.
