2021 Capital Budget Survey

Is there a road in Pittsburgh whose potholes drive you crazy? An intersection that feels unsafe? A street that needs a bike lane? A playground that’s a bit run-down?

If you answered yes to any of those questions (or even if you didn’t), the City of Pittsburgh wants to hear from you! The city’s 2021 Capital Budget Survey is available until June 19.

The Capital Budget is used to determine spending on projects (as opposed to day-to-day operations). This year’s Capital Budget includes (in no particular order):

Flood control projects
“Complete Streets” upgrades (incl. bike/pedestrian infrastructure)
Street resurfacing
Trail development
Capital improvements to the Bob O’Connor Golf Course
Renovation of Wightman Park (pictured above)
Enhancing Pittsburgh’s housing stock
Small business development funds
New firefighting equipment
Replacing security cameras

Preserving, Improving, and Celebrating the Quality of Life in Squirrel Hill

For over fifty years, the Coalition has been an active and important link in the community. It has served as a sounding board for new ideas, as well as a “watchdog” in the areas of public safety, education, residential quality, the business district, and parks and open space. With its focus on the quality of life in the 14th Ward, SHUC continues to monitor activities and future developments in the community through a range of standing committees.
