Our incredible sponsors make it possible for the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition to recognize our neighborhood Treasures, being the people and places that make Squirrel Hill a great place to live, work, and do business, through the Treasure Awards Dinner. Hosting our annual celebration and fundraiser through the Treasure Dinner would not have been a success without you. The ongoing support of our Squirrel Hill community, sponsors, and donors is essential to SHUC’s operations and advocacy for our neighbors. This includes the organization’s work informing and advocating on issues related to education, development activities, long-range planning, improvements, and initiatives in Squirrel Hill’s business district, public safety, residential quality, parks and recreation, land use, and other matters that impact the community, local businesses, and the neighborhoods of Squirrel Hill. Without your generous contributions, this event simply would not have been possible. Most importantly, your sponsorship supports many of the Coalition’s initiatives to preserve, improve, and celebrate the quality of life in our vibrant community—today and for future generations of Squirrel Hill residents. Thank you for making the 2025 Treasure Awards Dinner a true success!
Congratulations again to our 2025 Treasures: publisher & editor Ann Belser, Historic Preservationist Caroline Boyce, renowned head and neck cancer surgeon Dr. Eugene N. Myers, and Pittsburgh’s largest inclusive and accessible nonprofit housing developer, ACTION-Housing.
Finally, thank you to all who participated and attended! If you were unable to join us this year, we hope to welcome you next year!

Preserving, Improving, and Celebrating the Quality of Life in Squirrel Hill
For over fifty years, the Coalition has been an active and important link in the community. It has served as a sounding board for new ideas, as well as a “watchdog” in the areas of public safety, education, residential quality, the business district, and parks and open space. With its focus on the quality of life in the 14th Ward, SHUC continues to monitor activities and future developments in the community through a range of standing committees.
