Virtual Treasure Awards Dinner Wednesday, November 18, 2020

Purchase tickets for our Virtual Treasure Awards Dinner on Wednesday, November 18 from 6:30-7:15pm! [Note: Due to ever-changing circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic, this date has changed since a previous save-the-date announcement. November 18 is the correct date.]

Since 2010, the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition has honored special community “Treasures”: the people and places that make Squirrel Hill a great place to live, work, and do business. The Squirrel Hill Treasure Dinner has become an annual celebration and fundraiser for the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition.

Each year we recognize and congratulate 3-4 individuals or institutions that are integral parts to our Squirrel Hill community. Last year’s awards (pictured above) honored the JCC of Greater Pittsburgh, the first responders from October 27, 2018, Sunburst School of Music, and Michael Ehrmann of the Squirrel Hill Historical Society.

Going Virtual

For the safety of our community, this year’s event will be entirely virtual. It will feature a video tribute to our 2020 Treasures with a few fun surprises!

Preserving, Improving, and Celebrating the Quality of Life in Squirrel Hill

For over fifty years, the Coalition has been an active and important link in the community. It has served as a sounding board for new ideas, as well as a “watchdog” in the areas of public safety, education, residential quality, the business district, and parks and open space. With its focus on the quality of life in the 14th Ward, SHUC continues to monitor activities and future developments in the community through a range of standing committees.
