SHUC is hosting a community presentation by City Planning and Port Authority on the current planning of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. The BRT project is intended to better connect communities in the Downtown-Oakland-East End corridor, and more specifically connect residents to job centers, educational opportunities, medical services, and cultural attractions.

Monday, April 3, 2017 at 7:00 pm
The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh
1405 Shady Avenue

The purpose of this meeting is to:

  • update you on the status of BRT planning;
  • answer your questions about the planning process; and
  • collect your input on infrastructure and service options.

Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh and Port Authority would like input from YOU, our community stakeholders and local residents, prior to submitting the grant application to help fund this project. What are your thoughts on the service alternatives? Would you like to see a Locally Preferred Alternative route as a part of this phase of the planning? What route alignments would you prefer thorough Oakland, Downtown, and Uptown?

To provide further input beyond this meeting, visit the online survey or attend the public open house on April 5, 2017 at Alumni Hall, University of Pittsburgh.

More information about the proposed BRT line is available here and here.
