First Summer Night Market a HUGE SUCCESS!

On Saturday, June 18th, Uncover Squirrel Hill and the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition (SHUC) presented the first Squirrel Hill Night Market* of the year. Sponsored by Littles Shoes of Pittsburgh, Eyetique and Dollar Bank, the Night Market was incredibly popular!

Featuring live performances from the Squirrel Hillbillies, Buffalo Rose, and Sunburst School of Music, the artists market (featuring over 100 vendors, 70+ from I Made It Market as well as many other local sellers) drew in thousands over the 4 hour event. Paired with gorgeously warm and clear weather, both visitors and sellers alike enjoyed a fantastic evening.

Feel free to flip through a collection of photos from the event above!

*2016 Night Markets are building on the groundwork of NextGen:PGH’s 2015 events, also hosted in cooperation with Uncover Squirrel Hill and SHUC.

Preserving, Improving, and Celebrating the Quality of Life in Squirrel Hill

For over fifty years, the Coalition has been an active and important link in the community. It has served as a sounding board for new ideas, as well as a “watchdog” in the areas of public safety, education, residential quality, the business district, and parks and open space. With its focus on the quality of life in the 14th Ward, SHUC continues to monitor activities and future developments in the community through a range of standing committees.
